The Welcome Ministries is where visitors will first encounter members of the church family. Our ministries seek to express the love of Jesus Christ by greeting them warmly, answering their questions, assisting them in worship, and creating an atmosphere of friendly conversations over a delicious cup of gourmet coffee!

A big smile and hearty handshake goes a long way in giving both newcomers and regular attendees a greater sense of genuine caring Christian community. Ushers
Ushers play a vital role in not only helping people locate available seats and other practical needs during the worship services, but more importantly, they care for each worshipper by facilitating an environment that allows them to freely experience the presence of God. Refreshers
A cozy atmosphere may be difficult to form in such a large church, but the refreshers are able to accomplish such an elusive goal by their giftedness in hospitality. By preparing refreshments and hot drinks for the times between worship services, this ministry does a wonderful job of creating a friendly environment that allows people to linger longer at church and get to know others better. The Youth Ministries at Sunset comprise of three component fellowships - Middle School (JS), High School (AK) and College (CYA). Youth Sunday School falls under the oversight of the CE Committee who is responsible for recruiting, training and curriculum. Serving in the Youth Ministries of Sunset Church places you in the most strategic time in another person's life. These developing years are the most crucial time to instill a Christ-centered worldview into our students. Surprisingly, it isn't what we adults know that they need, but rather the attention we can give that they hunger for.
Authentic living is always a deep longing from our youth. The transformation from child to adult is a perilous journey and our youth have seen too many stumble and fall along the way. Their greatest need is for an understanding adult to show them the way by modeling an imperfect life lived in the presence and under the mercy of a perfect God. The basic requirements for serving in the Youth Ministries are a mature and deepening faith in Christ and a love for kids. The Worship Team's primary focus is to lead Sunday morning worship services, but team members also serve in other special events as needed (eg. seasonal productions, concerts, retreats, etc.) The Worship Team consists of the "Worship Band" and the "Vocal Team". Currently, team members serve on a rotation schedule.
Worship Band
The worship band consists of a rhythm section, which includes piano, acoustic guitar, bass guitar and drums. Auxiliary instruments such as keyboard, electric guitar, strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion are utilized as needed. Band Sectional practice is usually held on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons.
Vocal Team
The vocal team consists of 2 to 4 singers each week. The ability to learn songs quickly and blend well with other voices is required. Vocal Sectional practice is usually held on Wednesday evening. The entire Worship Team rehearses every Saturday afternoon, along with the Tech Crew and the Projection Team.

The Tech Crew and Projection Team ministries allow the messages to be heard, seen and experienced. If you like to work behind-the-scenes, come serve with us in a technical and fun way. No experience is required to join the Tech Crew or Projection Team, and training is available.
Tech Crew
The Tech Crew provides Audio-Visual support for Sunday morning services and various special events (eg. seasonal productions, concerts, seminars and evangelistic meetings.) Currently, Tech Crew members serve every other weekend (Saturday afternoon rehearsals with Worship Team and Sunday morning services). Serving areas include stage set up, live sound mixing, audio recording, video recording, lighting, stage support, and tear down. If you like to play with techie toys, this might be the ministry for you.
Projection Team
The Projection Team serves by supporting the Sunday morning services and special events with the usage of SongShowPlus, PowerPoint, MediaShout and various presentation tools.
Currently, Projection Team members serve on a monthly rotation basis (Saturday afternoon rehearsals with Worship Team and Sunday morning services). Serving areas include worship lyrics import, song slides set up, basic slide background design, download special video presentation on the computer, etc. If you are not afraid of the computer and likes to put together beautiful slides to enhance the worship experience, you might be the few good projectionists we have been looking for.
